Introducing Studio Shadows: a hands-on leadership and creativity program for middle school students who are curious about entrepreneurship and want to explore the behind-the-scenes world of a small business.

As part of this mentorship experience, students support Shade Sense Studio with content creation, product packaging, and creative brainstorming. In return, they gain real-world business insight, build confidence, and develop skills in teamwork, communication, and branding.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How often are meetings?

A: Meetings will occur every other week for 1-2 hours.

Q: Is this program location-restricted?

A: We ask that our interns come in once every-other week so that they can get an in-person learning experience. If this is a problem, make sure to mention it in your application!

Q: What days and times will Studio Shadows meetings be?

A: We will be picking a recurring meeting date during our first meeting! We want to pick a time that is most convenient for everyone.

Q: How long is the program?

A: You will serve a 3 month term, but you are always welcome to reapply!

Q: Is there an online option for this program?

A: Virtual options may be available soon! For now, online meetings will be based on necessity only.

Media & Photography

If you love photography, TikToks, Instagram Reels, or storytelling through visuals, this one’s for you!

Responsibilities include:

Assisting with behind-the-scenes photos and videos during product making sessions
Helping generate ideas for new posts or campaigns
Participating in occasional mini-photoshoots (products or hands!)
Learning about branding, lighting, and editing tips

Creation & Production

If you enjoy working with your hands, organizing, and helping make things look beautiful, this is the perfect fit.

Responsibilities include:

Helping scoop, label, and pack soaps, scrubs, and other products (under supervision)
Organizing materials and setting up workspace
Packing customer orders neatly and carefully
Learning about quality control and inventory systems

Ideas & Outreach

If you have big ideas and love being part of the creative process, this team helps bring new Shade Sense Studio campaigns to life.

Responsibilities include:

Contributing ideas for product names, seasonal collections, or social campaigns
Helping design packaging and color themes
Assisting with writing product descriptions or mini blurbs
Giving feedback on product scents, textures, or marketing
